My formal education started with an AAS in Construction Technology. I started out pursuing an Architecture Degree at the University of Arizona and during the first year discovered programs such as Autocad (Computer Aided Drafting) and 3dStudio release 3.0 for Dos which was my turning point into the computer world, and developed a love for 3D technology. In lieu of attending the University of Oregon to continue my Architectural path, I decided to attend the University of Advancing Computer Technology (UACT) formerly known as the CAD Institute. I began the education specializing in Virtual Reality technology where I was formally trained in several programming languages under the Software Engineering department, a lot of graphics programs under the multi-media departments, and still more training in design and development of manufactured products. I graduated with a BAS in Design. The school has since been renamed the University of Advancing Technology. UAT
I spent nine years working for a company called Nexus Multimedia which became Outhouse LLC, and is now called the Contrado Group. I was the Technical Director for the Rendering & Animation Division. Being one of the first employees of what had grown to 45 employees I served as the go to guy for everything and have worn many hats in a fast paced production environment. I was responsible for the creation, maintenance, and improvement of a proprietary 3D modeling and animation system used in both Autocad and 3d Studio Max animation software for production use. Serving as Cad Manager, Desktop support, technical liason for both internal and client meetings, render farm manager, software R & D for production, training and documentation manager, hardware purchasing for workstations and the render farms, troubleshooting and maintenance of workstation and server equipment....the list goes on as that was the nature of the TD position.
I still contract with Outhouse LLC / the Contrado Group maintaining and upgrading the Maxscript and Auto-LISP programs whenever they do software upgrades. I also am still 3D Modeling for them in Autocad by building 3D Models of homes from CAD Plans for photo-realistic renderings used in sales and marketing by home builders across the United States.
Troubleshooting and repair is one of my specialties due to the nature of my position at Outhouse and so starting a Troubleshooting and Repair business was a natural progression of my career path. I have served the Venice, Englewood, Sarasota, North Port, Cape Haze and Nokomis areas for 10 years now and it's been an absolute pleasure meeting the so many wonderful people that live and visit the area.
