Custom Computers & Workstations

I have been building custom computers & workstations since the mid 1990's. Serving as the Technical Director for the rendering and animation division of Outhouse.net. I was tasked with building multi processor capable rendering stations.

These rendering stations were originally custom, 1u rack-mounted systems tied to one another so that our photo-realistic architectural images would render in less than 10 hours. It was a technique of spawning the systems to have them all work on one image together.

For the artists and 3D modelers, there was a lot of graphic-intensive software necessary to produce the pipeline assets required to create the final images and animations. For this we started out using semi-custom computer systems created by Dell, but eventually found that custom computer workstations were far more powerful for the money and much more conducive to our needs. The results were far less system crashes and less bogging down of the workflow, increasing the overall longevity and usefulness of each workstation.

Custom Computers & Tower Desktops

By carefully choosing a motherboard, graphics card, and RAM memory in combination with the right CPU (processor), custom computers can be fine-tuned to meet very specific professional industry needs.

Day Traders

An avid day trader on the stock market has a few highly specific technology needs since high-volume trades must happen in milliseconds for a successful day. A graphics system that can drive up to 8 independent monitors for active visual charts, an M.2 SSD for the fastest possible read/write operations along with a motherboard optimized with fast bus lines to the storage drive, combined with a premium high-speed network card and ultra-low latency memory can make all the difference between successful market executions and dropped trades.

Architects, Engineers and AutoCAD Workstations

Professional fields like engineering and design essentially always require custom computers. A great motherboard, CPU, and heavy-duty RAM memory starts the configuration process, but the primary performance focus really falls on the workstation-grade Graphics Card installed on these systems. The build focus must account for both intensive 2D layout vectors and high-demand 3D rendering capabilities. We balance these parts carefully to avoid memory crashes and video freezes from disrupting your design workflow. For professional videographers, choosing the right chipsets is equally critical for maximizing the speeds of video encoding procedures.

Gamers

This is the enthusiast's realm. Gamers like myself from the 90s really kicked up the custom computer tower market. A modern gaming system needs serious thermal cooling and a chassis configured for proper directional airflow. We choose premium bottom-mounted power supply ATX cases and an 850-Watt minimum ball-bearing power supply to keep acoustics down while easily handling heavy-duty graphics builds competing online. We find custom liquid cooling loops keep processing noise silent and prevent hardware overheating on the processor under full loads, whether you install multiple graphics cards tied together or a single powerhouse GPU layout.

The beauty of a custom gaming machine is that a college student studying locally in the engineering or architectural fields already has a robust computer tower fully equipped to handle those heavy industry software requirements right out of the box.

Residential - Custom Home Computers

In most cases, a residential home computer user simply wants to securely check emails, draft text documents, pay bills, and stay in touch with family and friends. A custom PC is still a fantastic, viable choice for home use. The custom home machines we have built and maintained over the last 19 years are still in active operation today. The secret to this longevity is making proper, high-quality choices on internal parts from day one, allowing strategic component upgrades over the years to keep the computers running optimally without needing to replace the machine.

Crypto Data Mining & Bitcoin Infrastructure

This is a highly specialized computer system configuration. Trillions of complex algorithmic calculations must occur constantly for the successful mining of cryptocurrencies. In this scenario, the heavy labor falls completely on the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) arrays rather than the central CPU. A build like this requires a specialized mining motherboard that can hold up to 19 NVIDIA CUDA core-based graphics cards simultaneously. This hardware footprint demands a major enterprise power supply configuration with enough dedicated power connections to safely light up all 19 cards, the motherboard, and the processor. These are very noisy, high-heat systems, and local electricity costs can skyrocket, sometimes outweighing the monthly revenue mined during a given cycle if not configured strategically.
